Quotes (also called estimates or proposals) are used to calculate the price of a job to give to your customer. Below is a summary of the steps followed by detailed instructions.

- Go to Quote > New... enter a name, select a quote type and price list
- In the Quote Lines section click on

Detailed Instructions:
- Go to Quote > New... enter a name, select a quote type and price list.
- Quote Type
- Account - information on the account such as price list and tax rate will be applied to the quote
- Stand Alone - quote for a customer not in your database
- Template - create a format for quotes you do frequently
- Price List - determines the products and prices available
- Start With Template - If quote templates have been created, you can select one to use as a starting point
- Quote Type
- In the Quote Lines section click on
and select a line type:
- Product... add items from the price list
- Miscellaneous Item... add items not on the price list
- Measurement... enter measurements for multiple pieces on the same line. Link the measurement line to a product line by editing the product line and instead of (other) select the measurement from the drop down list.
- Text... enter headers, descriptions, comments or any other text
- Subtotal... add a subtotal and indicate if you want to hide the individual line item prices
- Product Upgrade... adds lines showing what the price would be to upgrade one or more lines to a new set of products
- Multiple Upgrades... adds lines showing what the price would be to upgrade one line to multiple products

- Move a line by clicking on it and select Move...
- Hide a line by double-clicking on the line and clicking in the check-box marked "Hidden:"
- Page Break - click on the quote where you want the page break and select "Insert Line" and then "Insert Page Break"

- Applying the discount or tax to each line includes the amount in the price on each line. If you leave the option blank, a tax or discount line will be added to the quote above the total line
- Products selected for tax and discounts have a small "T" and "D" next to the price on the quote (Example:
) - If "Edit Price on Quotes" is enabled for a product, you can change the price, tax or discount status of a product on the quote by clicking on the product and selecting "Edit Price..."

select the quote form to use for printing, and the file type. HTML is fastest and has the best formatting. Use your web browser to print. (File > Print) If necessary, change your web browser print settings to prevent the URL or other text from printing at the top or bottom of the page and to adjust the margins.
