Moraware JobTracker is installed on one machine (the server) and is accessed from other machines (clients) through Internet Explorer.
Client System Requirements
- Microsoft Internet Explorer version 7 or 8
- No other special software is required
Minimum Server Requirements
- Operating System - one of the following:
- Windows 2008 R2 Server (Requires Moraware JobTracker version 3.0 or later)
- Windows 2008 Server (32-bit requires Moraware JobTracker version 2.5 or later, 64-bit requires version 3.0 or later)
- Windows 2003 Server SP2 (32-bit only) (64-bit not supported)
- Windows Vista Business (Requires Moraware JobTracker version 2.3 or later)
- Windows 7 Professional (Requires Moraware JobTracker version 3.0 or later)
- Windows XP Professional SP2 or SP3 (XP Home Edition is not supported)
- Minimum hardware specifications for the server:
- 1GHz processor
- 1 GB RAM
- 2 GB of free disk space
Server Recommendations
We recommend that you use a machine that is dedicated to being a server, as opposed to using a machine that is also someone's client.
If you are going to purchase a new server to run JobTracker, we recommend the configuration below, which can be purchased from Dell or HP for under $2000.
- A single dual-core processor from Intel or AMD
- 2 GB RAM
- Two 250GB SATA disk drives
- RAID 1 controller to mirror the data between the two drives
- A way to backup your data, such as a Tape drive, DVD burner, or a remote backup service such as http://www.remotedatabackups.com/ or http://jungledisk.com/
