To enable search indexing for faster searches, you need to upgrade your SQL instance to include Advanced services, install Full-Text search, and configure JobTracker. Here's how, with screenshots:
- This process should take a few minutes, but may require a reboot of the server. We recommend installing the upgrade at the end of your business day.
- Under the Help menu, choose About Moraware JobTracker..., and find the Edition of Microsoft SQL Server and the Instance name your your Moraware database.
- Download the appropriate SQL installer. For SQL 2008 Express Edition with Advanced Services, the link is http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=B5D1B8C3-FDA5-4508-B0D0-1311D670E336&displaylang=en/. This download is about 500MB.
- Run the SQL installer and select Maintenance, and run the Edition Upgrade to upgrade the instance from Express to Express with Advanced Services.
- You may get messages about known incompatibilities. Choose to Run Program.
- At multiple points through the installation you'll see checks for rules. Ensure that all of the rules pass before you continue.
- Verify that you're installing Express with Advanced Services
- Agree to the license terms, click Next and choose the Moraware instance to upgrade.
- Click Upgrade and wait for the upgrade to successfully finish
- Next, select Installation, and choose New SQL Server stand-alone installation or add features to an existing installation.
- After checking setup rules, you may be required to install Setup Support Files. Install those.
- Finally, you can Add features to an existing instance of SQL Server 2008. Choose the MORAWARE instance.
- Check the box for Full-Text Search, and Install
- After you successfully install the Full-Text Search, open the Moraware JobTracker Configuration tool from your Start menu, and choose to Repair your instance
On the System Settings page under the Admin menu in JobTracker, you should see that Full-Text Search is now turned ON.
