Adding lead numbers

How can we generate numbers for leads, like job numbers?

Answer

You can add an auto-number custom field to your lead process. Here's how:

1. Under the Lead menu, select Edit Settings...
2. On the left, choose go to the section for Custom Fields
3. Click the button for New Lead Custom Field...
4. In the Name field, type in Lead Number
5. In the Data Type choose Auto-number
6. (optional) if you want a prefix or suffix, choose it
7. Click OK
