Question

On every job, we can have multiple work orders - we use a work order form for each room in the house. The problem is that when we do lots of rooms in the house, our job packet becomes huge and it's difficult for the installers to have an overview of the entire job.

How can I create a form that's a summary of all of my work orders? I'd like to show the material, edge detail, and sink information for each room.

Answer

First, create the new form: Under the Job menu, choose Edit Settings, and click on New Form…

Then click in the section that says Click to add fields. You’re going to use the Form Info data type

For each Form Info field, you can choose one or more fields from another form. For example, you can choose the Edge, Sink Model, and Material from your work order, as you mentioned.

Here's what that might look like:

The Data #1.1 and Data #2.1 represent the fact that multiple values will show up on the summary form – one for each work order.

Finally, add the summary form to a job to try out the results, and once it looks good, you can add it to your job templates.
