Printing PDF’s – JobTracker 4.0

Today’s update to JobTracker is a big one. Version 4.0!

We’ve added the most frequent feature request, which is printing PDF’s. Here are the main changes you will notice.

  • When you print a quote, job form, calendar packet, etc., we now generate a PDF file that you can print, save or email.
  • You can include attached PDF files in your quote and activity packets. Previously you were limited to CAD and image files.
  • You can include CounterGo quotes in your activity packets. This lets you print the drawing and layout for your shop or field crews along with all the job details.
  • On the Job Detail page, you can expand/collapse forms by clicking the (+) or (-) to the left of the form.

Want to know more? At Moraware, we make software for countertop fabricators. CounterGo is countertop drawing and estimating software. JobTracker is scheduling software that helps you eliminate the time you waste looking for job folders. RemnantSwap is a free place to buy and sell granite remnants with fabricators near you.

my only complaint is that i wish we still had the ability to generate a printable view in html. there is some printing / scaling functionality that I get with the browser’s print dialog that i can’t get in Word or once the pdf is generated.

Jerome, i agree with you. We used to be able to do a print preview and then set the margins and zoom to keep the quote to one page instead of two. Now we do not have this option and my signoff for the quote is going to another page.

Adam and Jerome, we heard your pleas, and added back the option to print to HTML. We would like to make the PDF version do everything you need. But I understand there will always be some cases where you need to shrink the page to make everything fit nicely.

I used to use the printable view to send that page by email. Is that no longer going to be a option? It looks like I will have to save it, then send as an attachment??

      Hi Donna,

You have a few options for emailing. We added back the option to print to HTML, so you can still do what you’re used to. You can also email a PDF directly from Adobe Reader without saving the file first.
