Attaching files, labeling seams, and regional terminology

Attaching files, labeling seams, and regional terminology

There are three updates to talk about this week.

1) Attach multiple files to JobTracker and CounterGo

You can now attach multiple files to a job or quote in one step. This works on current versions of Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer 10. (IE10 will be released with Windows 8 next month.) When you click the “Attach File” button on a supported browser, the dialog has an additional section labeled “drop files here.” You can drag & drop multiple files from the file explorer onto the dialog. When you click OK the files will be sent to the server one at a time, and you can see the progress as they complete.

2) Labeling seams on layout

When you click a countertop piece on the layout, there are now labels that mark each seam on the counter. This lets you identify all the pieces for that counter, along with how each is oriented on the slab.

3) Upstands, hobs and tap holes

If you know what that means, then you probably care a lot about this. If you don’t like our American countertop jargon, you can now use your own. You can rename “backsplash” to “upstand” or “cooktop” to “hob”. To change these settings, go to Quote > Edit Settings and click the “Customize Text” tab. There are a number of terms that you can change. And if there are other region-specific terms used in CounterGo that are foreign to you, please let us know.

Want to know more? At Moraware, we make software for countertop fabricators. CounterGo is countertop drawing and estimating software. JobTracker is scheduling software that helps you eliminate the time you waste looking for job folders. RemnantSwap is a free place to buy and sell granite remnants with fabricators near you.

    Hiya,

When I am pricing vanity & kitchen tops separately on the same quote, I need different prices for template and install for each (eg. vanity tops, scullery, kitchen, laundry tops). At the moment it is changing both prices for template & install when I am only changing one of them which I do not want. Can this be changed. Also how can I delete revisions on this when quoting just to tidy up so that next person can follow this easier. Also I would like it if we can price for different colours and thicknesses on the same quote instead of printing 1 quote for each colour and thicknesses as well.
    Thanks

Hi James – I’ll contact you directly to get more details about what you’re trying to do.

The short answer is that I’ve added your questions to our development wish-list. We’ve been doing updates every few weeks based on what people have been asking about, and I hope we can continue at that pace.

There’s not a way to delete revisions – the idea is that the latest revision should be the “real” one, but I’d like to find out more about how you’re using them.

Showing the price in multiple colors is probably the single-biggest request from our customers, and as soon as we have a solution, we’ll let you know.
