MORAWARE NEWS

We have a new Getting Started Guide for JobTracker! Sure, if you received this newsletter you might already be up and running with JobTracker, but maybe this is a good time to take a step back to see if there are ways you might glean more value from your technology investment.

Our JobTracker Getting Started Guide is a great place to start – even though it is written for somebody who has never entered a Job or scheduled an Activity. And there’s more to come – in both JobTracker and CounterGo. We are developing a variety of new training resources, so please let us know if there are topics you would like to see covered in more detail. We appreciate your feedback!

STONE TALK PODCAST

Have you listened to stonetalk.org? It’s our online radio show that features interviews with fabricators and folks in the industry. Each episode is about 30 minutes, and we think you’ll find it entertaining and informative.

Episode 9: Harry Hollander & Ted Pitts , Moraware founders, share a little history and describe why things are the way they are – at least in JobTracker and CounterGo!
Episode 10: Scott Edwards & Marty Medina, from VPN Systems, a systems integrator that builds custom solutions for the countertop industry.

You can subscribe from iTunes or from the Stone Talk site.

JOBTRACKER

Want to learn some tips and tricks in JobTracker? Here are a couple of answers to the most common questions we’ve gotten in the last month.

Q: Is there a way to add holidays to our Calendar so Auto-Schedule will ignore those days?

A: Sure, you just need to add those holidays in your Calendar Settings. Click Calendar on your main JobTracker menu and choose Edit Settings.

Next click the New Holiday button.

Enter each holiday or vacation day that you would like to ignore when scheduling activities. You can still schedule an activity on these days manually, but holidays will show up grey on your Calendar and will be ignored my the AutoSchedule function.

Check out the new Help pages on our website for more information on Calendar Settings.

Q: What about individual vacation days? If one of my template staff is going to be gone for a few days, can I show that on the Calendar so we remember not to assign any activities to him?

A: Yes, you can use Calendar Appointments to indicate when staff members will be away. First, go to Calendar Settings (as in the example above) and click the Appointment Categories button on the left. Create a Category (like PTO or Vacation) that you will use for scheduling Staff time off and assign a color.

Next, go to Calendar and click the New Appointment button near the top. Enter a Name that will be easy to recognize in different Calendar Views. Choose the appropriate Assignee and select the new Category you just created. Click the Select button to make it a recurring appointment. Once the Appointment is created, you will see the clock-warning icon if anyone tries to assign an activity to the person who will be out of the office.

Calendar Appointments are also useful for scheduling company meetings or creating periodic reminders for internal responsibilities like machine maintenance. Visit our website for more information about using Calendar Appointments (https://help.moraware.com/article/168-define-a-recurring-calendar-appointment) – and contact us if you need help!

COUNTERGO

Did you know? You can print a quote with only the Drawing and Layout but no prices. And if you also use JobTracker, you can set up your Activity Packets to automatically include this “no prices” quote when you print packets for your crews!

If you are an Admin User in CounterGo, go to Quote>Edit Settings and click the Form button to create a new Quote Form Template. Add fields for the Quote and Account information you want to include, as well as large fields for Drawing and Layout. Do not add a field for Quote Lines.

Visit our Help pages for step-by-step instructions – or you can even download and import a sample form to get you started!

If you’re just starting with CounterGo, check out our training, which is a sequence of videos that walks you through a quote from start to finish.

CounterGo (https://www.moraware.com/countergo) lets you draw, layout, and quote countertops in 3 minutes. Find out more by calling us at 866-312-9273.
