Want to learn some tips and tricks in JobTracker? Here are a couple of answers to the most common questions we’ve gotten in the last month.
Q: Is there a way that my production staff can enter how much time they spend completing an Activity – preferably without having to pay for an additional JobTracker User?
A: You can create unlimited Shop Users for free in JobTracker. A Shop User can log in to your Moraware account and choose from a list of special Shop Views that give summary information for selected Activities on the calendar each day. When a Shop User clicks on one of the Activity summaries, a Start/Stop button appears – as in this image (left).
These Shop Views are very simply formatted so they’re easy to read on a small laptop, tablet or even a smart phone. It’s also very easy to switch between different users on the same computer or mobile device so people can Start and Stop different Activities that are happening simultaneously.
Training your staff to use Shop Settings will help ensure that your job information is up-to-date so you can create reliable reports to inform both scheduling and pricing decisions.
Q: Is there a way to track Leads in JobTracker?
A: Yes, you can create a separate JobTracker Process to track information about your Leads – and later you can convert those Leads into Jobs when customers are ready to sign off on a quote. Once you’ve created this new Lead Process, you will see Lead listed next to Job on your main JobTracker menu.
You can customize your Lead Template just like you customize Job Templates, so new Leads always open with set activities like Initial Email or Follow Up Call. When you do convert a Lead to a Job, the contact and address information, as well as the history of your Lead Activities, will carry over automatically.

Did you know? You can create a separate Quote Form Template to use as a printable Invoice showing deposit paid and balance due? To begin, click on the New Printable Form button from within the Quote Settings window. You will likely want to add a Static Text field at the top of the page containing “INVOICE” as a heading.
Once you’ve saved your new Invoice Template, open a Quote and click the Edit Quote Info button at the top of the screen to add a deposit amount.
The deposit information will be stored, and your Invoice will print showing both the deposit and the balance due. More detailed information on customizing printable Quote Forms is available on our web site.
