New connection automatically syncs slab images for less data entry and improved material visibility.
The new Slab Scanner Integration has officially launched for users of Moraware Inventory. This new integration gives countertop fabricators a faster and easier way to connect slab scanners directly to inventory in Moraware to automatically sync slab images and image metadata.
For shop owners and managers, this solution streamlines inventory management, reduces manual data entry, and enables a more reliable view of available materials. By keeping inventory data accurate and centralized, fabricators can reduce costly mistakes, improve material utilization, and maintain alignment between the office and shop floor.
“Fabricators want to know exactly what they have on hand without wasting time walking the yard. We are excited to empower fabricators to leverage these images and connect them to this crucial portion of their business,” said Patrick Ramsey, CEO of Moraware. “It’s part of our commitment to stay at the forefront of the industry by solving real operational problems in a practical, reliable way.”
Supported Scanners include Horus’s Iris Slab Scanner and Park’s SlabVision
The integration debuts with support for Horus’ Iris Slab Scanner. Customers interested in connecting their scanner can visit the Moraware knowledge base for details on how to get started. The Park Industries’ SlabVision scanner is currently available in an early-access phase. Customers with a Park SlabVision scanner can request to join the early access program through the Moraware website.
Fabricators interested in learning more about the integration and how it integrates with inventory in Moraware can join a live webinar Tuesday, April 28th, 2026. Moraware experts will provide a practical walkthrough of Moraware Inventory and the new integration.
Saving time with reduced data entry and automatic remnant creation
Integration with slab scanners addresses a persistent challenge for growing fabrication shops to manage slab inventory efficiently as job volume increases. By automatically syncing slab images and image data when serial numbers match, the integration reduces duplicate data entry and provides a clear visual reference for materials inside Moraware.
In addition to syncing slab images, the integration introduces automated remnant creation. When remnants are defined in a scanner’s layout software, they are created directly in Moraware with associated images, image metadata, and a reference to the original slab. This removes the need for manual remnant entry and ensures inventory records remain complete and consistent.
“Inventory is one of the most critical and error-prone parts of running a fabrication shop,” said Chelsea Hendrickson, Moraware Product Manager. “Integrating a slab scanner reduces the friction in a process that has traditionally been manual, so it’s easier to keep track of remnants and see exactly what you have in your inventory.”
Integration available for fabricators that manage inventory in Moraware
The Slab Scanner Integration is managed within Moraware and does not require custom development or third-party consultants. Customers using Moraware Inventory, as well as those on the legacy Inventory Edition, can take advantage of the integration. Customers interested in integrated slab scanners can visit the slab scanner integrations page for additional details.
